Job summary

NIS EXPRESS is offering a driver training program for CDL-A graduates. You will ride with an experienced trainer for 4 to 6 weeks on real loads, learning trip planning, backing, drop and hook, and log book/ELD compliance.

After training, you move to solo driving with pay scales that start at a guaranteed minimum and ramp up as you gain experience. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, with take-home pay starting immediately after training completion and a clear path to solid solo earnings

• Valid CDL-A and at least 21 years old.
• 120+ hours completed at accredited CDL school.
• Stable work history and clean driving/background.
• Active DOT medical card and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Ride with an experienced trainer for full 4 to 6 weeks on actual loads and routes.
• Learn hands-on: trip planning, backing and maneuvering, drop and hook procedures, log book and ELD compliance.
• Understand company systems and dispatch communication; transition to solo driving after training.

The Freight & Where You'll Run

• Territory stays east of I 35.
• New York City and its five boroughs are never on the route.
• Freight is 100 percent no touch dry van.
• Split runs about 70 percent drop and hook, 30 percent live load and unload.

Your Truck, Your Schedule

• Drive a 2022 or newer Freightliner or Kenworth automatic, APU equipped for rest breaks.
• Once solo, that truck is yours, no slip seating, with take home options on the table.
• Riders and pets are welcome once training wraps up.
• Out 12 days, home for 2.

What Solo Drivers Actually Earn

• Floor of $1,000 a week guaranteed through your first 3 solo months.
• Most drivers average $1,300 to $1,500 weekly gross.
• Top performers see $1,750 or more.
• Mileage typical runs 2,200 to 2,800 a week.

4 to 6 Weeks of Real Training

• You'll ride with an experienced trainer for the full 4 to 6 weeks, running actual loads on actual routes, not a classroom.
• Learn hands on: trip planning, backing and maneuvering, drop and hook procedures, log book and ELD compliance, and how to handle live load and unload stops.
• Your trainer walks you through company systems, communication with dispatch, and what to expect once you're running solo.
• Training pay is direct deposited every Friday, and the moment you finish, you move straight to full solo pay.
