Job summary

Brown Foodservice is seeking a Route Delivery Driver with a Class A CDL to distribute grocery/food items to customer locations, based out of our Sophia WV shuttle point. The role features a $10,000 sign-on bonus (eligibility) and a minimum base pay of $52,000/year.

The driver will deliver on assigned routes, maintain DOT-compliant logs, and coordinate with supervisors while upholding safety, accuracy, and professional conduct. Background checks apply.

Qualifications

• Must know and adhere to Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a valid CDL Class A License.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, reach, bend, squat, and stoop to accomplish the essential job functions.
• Ability to perform repetitive lifting of 50 lbs.
• Strong communication skills with management team, drivers, sales, and customers.
• Ability to use new applications/proprietary software.
• Basic math skills required.
• Self-motivated; customer-focused.
• Active listening and independent thinking/decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Drive tractor-trailer and perform product deliveries along assigned routes and related duties.
• Ensure compliance with DOT and applicable traffic regulations.
• Maintain accuracy of delivered product with no damage.
• Communicate problems to Transportation Supervisor by phone.
• Drive to destination and apply knowledge of regulations and vehicle handling.
• Maintain electronic driver log according to DOT regulations.
• Maintain telephone contact with supervisor for instructions.
• Follow transportation and safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure professional appearance and training compliance.
• Complete administrative tasks and related paperwork.
