Job summary

Schneider National is seeking CDL-A tanker drivers to haul liquid chemical freight in dedicated tanker trailers. Most schedules keep you home on weekends, with 34–48 hours off and 5–10 loads per week. Compensation includes mileage pay plus hourly pay on duty, weekly performance pay, and sign-on bonuses for both experienced and newer drivers.

Comprehensive benefits and training support are provided. Orientation is paid, and drivers can earn additional certifications for extra mileage pay.

Overview

• Haul liquid chemical freight in tanker trailers.
• Home for 34-48-hours, typically on weekends.
• 5-10 loads per week.

Pay and bonus potential

• Pay recently increased by up to $.07 per mile.
• Mileage pay, plus hourly pay while on duty, not driving.
• Weekly performance pay.
• Earn up to $0.03 more per mile by obtaining additional CDL certifications.
• $7,500 sign-on bonus paid over 12 monthly payments in your first year for experienced drivers.
• $5,000 sign-on bonus paid over 12 monthly payments in your first year for inexperienced drivers.
• Paid orientation.
• Paid time off after 6 months, plus 6 days of holiday pay per year.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Tanker endorsement required at time of hire.
• HazMat endorsement required after hire - Schneider's self-paced online certification training will help you secure it.
• TWIC card preferred - required to start process within 60 days of hire.
• Live within 50 miles of Chicago, IL, Gary, IN or Woodhaven, MI.
