Salt City Trucking is seeking a CDL-A Local Truck Driver for grocery delivery based in Hatfield, MA. Earn $100,000-$110,000 per year with a $10,000 bonus, operating newer automatic day cab equipment on a dedicated route to supermarkets and distribution centers in the Northeast.

Home daily with a 2:30 AM start, Monday–Friday schedule with every other Saturday. NYC boroughs and Long Island are the primary delivery area, with occasional overnights and hotel stays during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Minimum 3 months of truck driving experience.

• Must meet all DOT, company, and account-specific hiring requirements.

Responsibilities

Job Details

• Dedicated local grocery delivery account based in Hatfield, MA
• Deliver fresh and frozen groceries using 53', 51', 48', and 46' reefer trailers
• Make deliveries to supermarkets, including Associated Grocers and FoodTown, as well as distribution centers
• Primary delivery area includes NYC boroughs and Long Island (80-90% of deliveries)
• Additional operating areas include NJ, MA, VT, RI, NH, ME, PA, and parts of Upstate New York
• Drivers should expect to make deliveries throughout NYC boroughs daily
• Multi-stop routes averaging 15-20 stops per week
• Typically run one long load per day, with an occasional shorter load when available hours permit
• May occasionally pick up returned product from delivery locations or complete backhauls to the distribution center
• Assigned automatic day cab trucks that cannot be taken home
• Newer equipment, with trucks averaging 3 years old or newer
• New 100% electric pallet jacks provided
• Training provided on electric pallet jack operation to assist with unloading
• Uniforms provided
• Drivers may support other local accounts as needed
• Strong customer service skills are important for this customer-facing role
• Drivers must provide their own transportation to and from the account

Shift Details

• Home daily
• Main start time around 2:30 AM
• Monday-Friday schedule with every other Saturday required
• Average 12-14 hour shifts
• Six-day workweeks may be mandatory during peak holiday periods
• Occasional overnight layovers may be required, with hotel accommodations provided
• Drivers work scheduled holidays when the account is operating
• For Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's, drivers are off on the holiday itself but may work the holiday night

Job Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 3 months of truck driving experience
• Ability to safely operate reefer equipment in a high-volume grocery delivery environment
• Comfortable making frequent deliveries and multi-stop routes
• Ability to use an electric pallet jack; training provided
• Must be comfortable delivering throughout NYC boroughs and the Northeast
• Strong customer service skills
• Must meet all DOT, company, and account-specific hiring requirements
• No SAP drivers
• Safe driving record required
