Job summary

Salt City Trucking is seeking a CDL-A Local Grocery Driver for a dedicated local grocery account based near Windsor Locks, CT. You will be home daily with routes within a 250‑mile radius, delivering to NYC boroughs and Long Island, often on 45‑53' trailers.

Salary ranges from $90,000 to $100,000 per year with additional per-stop pay and weekly bonuses. Expect a high-volume, multi-stop schedule with uniforms provided and a driver room on site.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Minimum 3 months verifiable truck driving experience.
• Must be able to safely unload with electric pallet jack.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Reliable transportation to/from the account.
• Comfortable with multi-stop NYC deliveries.
• DOT Medical Card required.
• No SAP drivers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver dry groceries on 45‑53' trailers.
• Multi-stop loads, usually 2–3 stops per trailer.
• NYC boroughs and Long Island deliveries comprise 80–90%.
• Return product and backhaul pickups.
• Lif tgate-equipped trailers for NYC deliveries.
• Slip-seat operation; same truck not guaranteed.
• Uniforms provided.

CDL-A Local Grocery Driver – $90K–$100K | Windsor Locks, CT

Earn $90,000–$100,000 per year on a dedicated local grocery account with home daily. Drivers operate within a 250-mile radius of Windsor Locks and should be prepared for frequent NYC borough and Long Island deliveries.

Main Yard / Starting Location

• Windsor Locks, CT
• Routes within a 250-mile radius
• Heavy delivery volume into NYC boroughs and Long Island
• Additional routes throughout NJ, MA, VT, RI, NH, ME, PA and parts of upstate NY

Pay Details

• $90,000–$100,000 average annual gross
• Approximately $1,750–$1,950 average weekly
• $0.50–$0.52 CPM
• $85/day — must work all 5 days to receive the weekly daily rate
• $17.25 per shipper/receiver load or unload stop
• $30 per driver-unload or liftgate stop
• $47.50 per NYC borough stop
• $15/hour safety training
• $160–$450 for off-account work
• Approximately 1,350 miles/week

Shift Details
