Job summary

Etna Supply in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a CDL A Local Delivery Driver to safely drive local routes, deliver plumbing materials, and provide excellent customer service. You will be responsible for on-time deliveries, loading/unloading, securing loads, and completing DOT-required logs and inspections.

Must hold a valid CDL Class A with a clean driving record, follow DOT/FMCSA regulations, and maintain the vehicle. Strong customer service and safety mindset are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local driving laws.
• Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Ability to drive safely and obey applicable laws and regulations.
• Effectively use GPS, read maps, and follow directions.
• Effective communication, customer service, and stress management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic arithmetic skills with or without a calculator.
• Maintain professional image as a company representative.

Responsibilities

• Be familiar with the territory and work efficiently.
• Make deliveries promptly while maintaining a friendly relationship with customers.
• Secure all materials to prevent accidents, damage, or loss.
• Use care in handling materials, products, and equipment.
• Sign, date, and fully fill out driver logs with stops, hours and inspections.
• Adhere to DOT/FMCSA regulations, including pre-trip inspections and logs.
• Assist customers in unloading and loading delivered goods.
• Keep tarps on loads during poor weather.
• Maintain vehicle fluids, air pressures, and cleanliness.
• Back up warehouse personnel; ensure regular attendance and work safely.
