Job summary

Wooster Motor Ways, Inc. is hiring a dependable Company Driver to haul freight on local routes. You will operate Class A tractor-trailers, perform inspections, and securely load and unload cargo while meeting delivery windows in a safety-focused environment.

The role offers competitive pay with starting compensation at 25% of line haul and increases to 28% after 90 days, plus comprehensive benefits and home time based on the route. Prior HazMat certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Pneumatic Drivers – Local

• Freight Type: Powdered cement
• Local Routes: Home daily | Average pay $1,300–$1,600 per week
• Benefits: Daily or weekend home time depending on route, stable freight, and professional work environment
• Starting Compensation: 25% of Line Haul
• 90 day Increase to: 28% of Line Haul

Equipment

What You'll Do

• Operate Class A tractor-trailers to transport freight, general commodities, and specialized cargo.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report defects, accidents, or violations promptly.
• Load, secure, and inspect cargo; follow special handling procedures for hazmat or temperature-sensitive freight.
• Maintain accurate HOS logs and all required DOT/FMCSA documentation.
• Verify bills of lading, collect signatures/receipts, and ensure all paperwork is complete and correct.
• Plan routes and schedules to meet pickup and delivery windows.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance (fluids, minor repairs); keep trailer clean and ready.
