Job summary

American Driver LLC in California seeks drivers to haul intermodal containers between rail ramps with no touch freight. You’ll work five days a week and be home nightly, with options for Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday schedules.

Compensation is hourly plus per-stop pay. Expect 11 driving hours most days, with some days reaching a full 14-hour clock. Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO are available benefits.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL from your state of residence.
• At least 3 months of verifiable driving experience.
• Live within 15 miles of Bell Gardens.
• 21 years or older.
• No more than 2 moving violations in 2 years; no DUI/DWI in 10 years.
• Pass DOT physical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Haul intermodal containers on a chassis between rail ramps.
• No touch freight; loads can be preloads or live freight.
• Home daily with five-day weeks; choose Sunday-Thursday or Tue-Sat.

Job description

Five days a week. Home every night. Paid by the hour plus every stop.

Pay

• $19.25 per hour
• $18.71 per stop
• Drivers earn $1,400 to $1,800 a week
• Extra days are optional, never forced

The work

You haul intermodal containers on a chassis between five rail ramps: Long Beach, Los Angeles, Commerce, City of Industry and Bloomington. Some routes go up the Grapevine to the Shafter and Lebec areas. Loads are a mix of preloads and live freight. No touch, no hand unloading.

The truck stays at our yard in Bell Gardens. You drive in, grab your truck, run your day and go home.

Your week

Pick a schedule: Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday. Day and night shifts are both available. Dispatch is automatic, so you don't pick your routes. Days are full. You'll run your 11 hours of driving most days, and some days you'll use your full 14-hour clock.

Holidays

Major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas are usually covered by volunteers. The yard shuts down early on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
