Job summary

Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services is seeking a Commodities Truck Driver to transport USDA-purchased food. The role operates a semi-tractor trailer delivering to over 270 agencies statewide and three tribal organizations in Wyoming and Utah.

Responsibilities include vehicle safety checks, inventory inspections, and maintaining logs under state and federal rules. The position requires a Montana CDL Class A license and five years of related driving experience, with day shifts

Qualifications

• Knowledge of semi-tractor trailer capabilities.
• Skill in operating a conventional sleeper tractor with 48 ft. refrigerated trailer.
• Knowledge of interstate trucking rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of vehicle repairs and maintenance requirements.
• Ability to provide effective and professional customer service.
• Ability to develop cooperative working relationships.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Ability to operate a PC and office software.

Responsibilities

• Check vehicle for mechanical, safety and emergency equipment functionality.
• Inventory and inspect goods for quantities, conditions, temperatures, etc.
• Maintain vehicle logs per state and federal regulations; report inconsistencies to supervisor.
