Job summary

Gonzalez Group in Detroit seeks a CDL-A Truck Driver to transport fabricated materials between job sites, vendors, and the fabrication facility. When not on the road, you will assist in material handling, loading, inventory organization, and shop support.

You must prioritize safety, manage time reliably, and collaborate with fabrication teams, project managers, and field crews to maintain logs, load securement, and DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma is required.
• Must pass DOT physical, drug test, and background check.
• Experience with flatbed hauling and steel is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A CDL semi-truck with flatbed trailer to transport steel products.
• Ensure load is balanced and compliant with weight/size limits.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer before/after trips and report defects.
• Maintain driver logs (EDLs) and paperwork (BOLs).
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules per policies.
• Communicate with dispatch/site contacts to ensure smooth deliveries.
