Job summary

Fessenden Hall is seeking a CDL-A Driver / Warehouse Associate for a hybrid role based in Pennsauken, NJ. You will split time between warehouse operations and on-road deliveries to customer sites, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and customer service.

The position offers hourly pay of $24.00–$26.00 with comprehensive benefits including medical, retirement, and PTO. Candidates must have CDL-A, a clean MVR, and forklift eligibility or willingness to train.

Responsibilities

• Warehouse duties: load trucks for next-day delivery, unload stock, assist customers, stock inventory, maintain warehouse cleanliness, learn products, manage paperwork, attend trainings.
• Driving & delivery duties: secure materials, drive to customer sites across Southern New Jersey & Greater Philadelphia, assist with unloading, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain logs, follow DOT regulations.

Reports To: Shipping/Warehouse Manager | Location: Pennsauken, NJ (Warehouse & Field)

Hourly Pay Range: $24.00 – $26.00 per hour, plus the benefits described below

Position Overview

Hybrid Role – Warehouse & Road:

This is an active, hands-on hybrid position. You will split your time between warehouse operations - loading, unloading, and inventory management - and on-road delivery of specialty building materials to customer sites across our service territory. Both sides of the role require physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

What You'll Do

Warehouse Duties:

• Safe, efficient, and accurate loading of trucks for next-day customer delivery
• Safe and efficient unloading of incoming stock deliveries, including accurate verification against shipping documents
• Assist "will-call" customers by retrieving orders and loading their vehicles safely and promptly
• Load, unload, and stock inventory in a safe and careful manner
• Maintain the warehouse in a clean and orderly condition
• Build and maintain knowledge of company products
• Manage paperwork and reports as required
• Attend scheduled meetings and training sessions

Driving & Delivery Duties:

• Secure materials: Physically handle and carefully secure building materials (laminates, plywood, solid surfaces) onto the truck, ensuring safe transport
• Safe transportation: Drive commercial vehicles to deliver materials from our warehouse to customer locations across Southern New Jersey & Greater Philadelphia
• Customer delivery & unloading: Work directly with customers at delivery sites, assisting with unloading and ensuring materials arrive in perfect condition
• Vehicle inspections & maintenance: Perform thorough pre- and post-trip inspections, verify cargo is properly secured, and maintain accurate logs of vehicle repair status and working hours
• Safety & compliance: Follow all safety procedures for cargo transport, adhere to traffic laws, and maintain compliance with DOT regulations

What We're Looking For

Licensing & Credentials:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid CDL A with clean driving record and clean MVR; must pass DOT physical and drug screening
• Forklift Driver's license, or willingness to be trained

Experience & Skills:

• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience preferred
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and remain on your feet for extended periods
• Able to work in varying weather conditions while remaining alert and focused
• Available for shift work

Exceptional Medical Coverage

Fessenden Hall covers 80% of your premium. An employer-funded HRA reimburses your full deductible each year, up to $4,000 individual or $8,000 family. Your effective deductible is $0. Out-of-pocket max is $6,550; above that, insurance pays 100%.
