Job summary

Ben E. Keith Company seeks a DOT Driver Trainee to deliver products along assigned routes across Texas, with progression to a Driver DOT position after successful training. You will maintain delivery windows and ensure cargo accuracy while complying with safety rules.

The role emphasizes safety, record-keeping, and regulatory compliance, supported by long-standing history since 1906. On-site opportunity with room to grow within a nationwide distribution network.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
• Prioritize multiple projects and monitor time effectively.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver product along assigned routes with multiple stops of varying difficulty.
• Read customer invoices to determine items to move and deliver.
• Assemble customer orders for delivery to businesses.
• Maintain delivery time windows for each stop on the route.
• Maintain accuracy of delivered product and avoid damage from mishandling.
• Obey traffic laws and follow established transportation procedures.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Report mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
• Maintain records such as vehicle logs and cargo/billing statements as required.
