As a trainee, you’ll learn to operate tractor-trailers, document deliveries, and ensure on-time, undamaged product delivery while meeting safety and DOT requirements. This role starts with training wages and advances to a substantial annual salary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Possess a Class A CDL.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Must meet McLane's MVR and risk rating qualifications.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Perform mathematical calculations to verify quantities of product.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and handle lines to secure.
• Operate truck safely following regulations and company policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer equipment and submit DOT inspection report.
• Document delivery receipts and product temperatures with the Driver Delivery Handheld.
• Ride with Driver Trainer to learn routes and driving regulations.
• Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations.
