Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a CDL-A Driver in Baton Rouge, LA to safely operate heavy trucks for delivery and removal of large containers. You will perform pre/post-trip inspections, service routes, assist with minor repairs, and interact with customers daily.

Two years of driving experience preferred, with a focus on safety, reliability, and meeting productivity goals. Benefits include comprehensive coverage and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior experience driving commercial trucks preferred.
• Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
• Mechanical aptitude for minor repairs.
• Commitment to quality and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicle pre- and post-operation to ensure safety and proper function.
• Safely operate heavy truck along designated route and service customers.
• Load/unload and operate waste equipment and disposal processes.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers and others daily.
• Perform minor repairs to containers on site or in the yard.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag as required.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Clean area around spills, following safety standards.
• Complete route, productivity sheets and reports as required.
• Maintain productivity and safety standards at all times.
• Participate in the Company’s ReSOP program.
