Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking professional truck drivers in the United States. You will operate a CMV in compliance with DOT standards, perform DVIRs, and transport loads within a 300-mile radius while benefiting from Home daily schedules and steady 5‑day weeks.

Earn up to $80,000+ annually with a $3,000 sign‑on bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, and a 401(k) plan. Candidates must be 21+, have 1 year of CDL Class A experience, and hold a HS diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• 1 year CDL Class A driving tractor trailer or reefer experience required.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) in compliance with DOT and company standards.
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and complete DVIRs daily.
• Transport loads according to dispatch instructions, ensuring proper load security and biosecurity compliance.
• Maintain accurate Hours of Service (HOS) logs via ELD or paper logs when required.
• Report all accidents, citations, and equipment defects promptly.
• Participate in scheduled driver safety meetings and required training programs.
• Keep assigned truck clean and report maintenance needs.
• Perform additional duties under weekly guarantee, including trailer washouts, fueling, spotting, weighing, and reporting maintenance issues.
