Job summary

Southern States Cooperative seeks a full-time CDL A Truck Driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations, transporting agricultural products within a regional area. You will load, unload, verify documentation, and communicate with facilities to schedule deliveries.

You must comply with DOT regulations, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain logs, and represent SSC professionally with customers and partners on every delivery.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Requires six months of Class A commercial driving experience.
• Valid Class A CDL required and knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Hazardous Materials/Tanker licensing may be required depending on location.
• Ability to operate a forklift and use GPS equipment.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily deliveries with facility management and drivers.
• Safely operate tractor-trailer combinations transporting agricultural products.
• Load, secure, verify load documents, and monitor scales and inventory.
• Off-load as required and review bills of lading with customers.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain logs.
• Represent SSC professionally and communicate delivery details to customers.
• Operate in warehouses and perform related duties as needed.
• Maintain safety, quality control, and OSHA/SSC procedures.
