Job summary

UNFI in Dallas, TX is hiring a CDL A Delivery Driver to support regional routes delivering palletized products to corporate and independent retailers. You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections, load and unload shipments, and ensure orders and paperwork are accurate.

The role requires 1+ year of CDL A driving experience, knowledge of DOT regulations, and the ability to operate electric pallet jacks. You will join a safety‑driven team with weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and current DOT medical card.
• At least 1 year of professional CDL A driving experience.
• Proficiency with electric pallet jack in delivery settings.
• Pass written exam and road test.
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Execute tight backing maneuvers and precise positioning.
• Follow company safety policies and DOT regulations; minimize incidents.

• Handle backhauls and vendor paperwork accurately.
• Verify delivery accuracy and product condition.
• Address customer concerns professionally.
• Complete logs, timecards, and trip entries on time.

What does it mean to be part of the Class A Delivery Driver Team?

As a Class A Delivery Driver for UNFI, you will support the Dallas location by delivering palletized products to corporate and independent retail stores. The essential functions and basic duties of the CDL Driver are to perform pre- and post-trip inspection of their vehicle utilizing knowledge of safe and effective loading and handling procedures. As a Delivery Driver, you are also responsible for delivering and unloading products, reviewing paperwork for completeness and accuracy, checking orders for the correct number of boxes, correcting addresses and support documentation, completing time cards, entering trip data into on-board computer, and completing paper logs if necessary.

Job Responsibilities

• Safely operate a tractor-trailer (53-foot trailer) in both regional and dense metropolitan environments
• Perform deliveries and unloading of products using appropriate equipment, including ramps, lift gates, pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and load bars
• Execute tight backing maneuvers and precise positioning in rural and urban settings
• Adhere to all company safety policies and DOT regulations, minimizing accidents, traffic violations, and public complaints
• Immediately report any accidents or incidents to the Transportation Manager
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and promptly report defects using proper documentation (DCVR)
• Pick up backhauls and vendor supplies while ensuring all associated paperwork is complete and accurate
• Verify delivery accuracy, including product count and condition, ensuring orders match customer specifications
• Address and resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently
• Complete all required logs, timecards, and trip data entries accurately and on time

Job Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and current DOT medical card
• At least 1 year of professional CDL A driving experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in safely operating an electric pallet jack in delivery settings
• Ability to pass a written exam and road test
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
