Job summary

United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) is seeking a CDL A Driver to safely deliver and unload products.

You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections, review paperwork for accuracy, verify orders, correct addresses, and complete timecards and logs as required. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with UNFI procedures and FMCSA regulations, maintaining delivery schedules, and reporting incidents promptly.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license.
• Medical card as required by FMCSA.
• Ability to pass written exam and road test.
• Understanding of DOT regulations and UNFI safety standards.
• Good judgment and decision-making under varied conditions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with UNFI Driver's Handbook and FMCSA regulations.
• Perform pre-trip, during-trip, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Comply with federal hours of service requirements.
• Complete daily logs and trip reports.
• Report all accidents involving company equipment immediately.
• Follow all traffic laws and established safety procedures.

CDL A Driver Position

Job Overview

The essential functions and basic duties of the CDL Driver are to perform pre and post trip inspection of their vehicle utilizing knowledge of safe and effective loading and handling procedures. As a Delivery Driver, you are also responsible for delivering and unloading products, reviewing paperwork for completeness and accuracy, checking orders for correct number of boxes, correcting addresses and support documentation, completing timecards, entering trip data into on-board computer, and completing paper logs if necessary

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with company procedures as outlined in UNFI. Drivers’ Handbook and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (DOT).
• Perform required vehicle safety inspections before, during and after dispatch.
• Comply with federal hours of service requirements.
• Correctly execute daily log and trip report.
• Immediately report all accidents involving company equipment to appropriate manager.
• Comply with Federal and State mandated traffic laws and established company safety procedures.
• Maintain basic familiarity and compliance with FMCS regulations.
• Maintain schedule of deliveries per dispatch instructions.

Job Requirements

• Valid medical card as prescribed by the Federal Motor Carrier Administration and a valid state specific Commercial Driver’s License (Class A and CDL Drivers require respective licensing)
• Ability to pass a written exam and road test
• Basic knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) law and mandates and understanding of UNFI’s safety standards
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available
