Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is hiring a CDL-A Delivery Driver in Rocky Mount, NC. You will operate tractor-trailers, perform inspections, and deliver products to customer locations while complying with DOT and company safety rules.

The role offers a pay rate up to $80,000 depending on experience, plus a sign-on bonus up to $10,000. Day 1 benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, plus other programs. This is a full-time on-site driver role with comprehensive safety training.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Class A CDL with required endorsements.
• At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles driving experience.
• You must meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications.
• Ability to read, write and understand English at a functional level.

Responsibilities

• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects before and after trips and submit DOT report.
• Verify bill of lading and store keys for accuracy during off-hours delivery.
• Operate tractor-trailer per regulations and company safety standards.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT rules and record temperatures and exceptions.
• Unload and deliver products to customer premises.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you’ll do as a CDL-A Delivery Driver:

• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition.
• Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery.
• Drive tractor-trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle on the road and on customer premises.
• Maintain driver log (Manual or Peoplenet) according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures and exceptions.
• Unload trailer, delivering product into customer premises.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications you’ll bring as a CDL-A Teammate:

• At least 21 years of age
• Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A)
• At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience
• Must meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications
• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
