Job summary

Yzer Fleet, LLC is seeking an experienced CDL Line Haul A Driver to transport freight on long-distance routes, typically overnight. The role requires a Class A CDL, a clean driving record, and 3 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience.

You will perform pre-/post-trip inspections, manage records with ELDs, and communicate with dispatch to ensure on-time deliveries. Shifts Sunday-Thursday 9:30 PM–6:00 AM with coverage-based variations; 90% no-touch freight; physical requirements include

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL issued by the state of residence.
• Minimum age usually 21 years or older.
• 3 years of recent verifiable Class A tractor-trailer driving experience preferred.
• Clean driving record with no major violations in past 3–5 years.
• DOT Medical Certification must be current.
• Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, Hours of Service, and ELDs.
• Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmissions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A tractors to move freight between terminals or customer locations, typically overnight or long-distance routes.
• Perform pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections per DOT requirements.
• Ensure timely and accurate deliveries while following traffic laws and company policies.
• Secure freight using straps and other equipment to prevent shifting during transit.
• Maintain records with ELDs and other required documentation (bills of lading, delivery receipts).
• Communicate route status, delays, or issues with dispatch and terminal staff.

Skilled in operating Class A commercial vehicles, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, and ensuring compliance with DOT regulations. Sunday-Thursday 930pm-6am and will vary depending on coverage needed

90% no touch freight, but may require use of a manual pallet jack

Pay Scale: 28.00 per hour

Hours: 40 standard, however additional hours will be necessary based on customer needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform thorough pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT regulations.


• Ensure timely and accurate deliveries while maintaining adherence to all traffic laws and company policies.


• Secure freight properly using straps, load bars, or other equipment to prevent shifting during transit.


• Maintain accurate records using electronic logging devices (ELDs) and other required documentation (e.g., bills of lading, delivery receipts).


• Communicate effectively with dispatch, terminal staff, and other team members regarding route status, delays, or issues.


• Refuel and maintain vehicle cleanliness, reporting any mechanical issues immediately.


• Follow all safety protocols and use PPE as required at terminals and customer sites.


• Occasionally assist with loading or unloading freight, depending on route and customer needs.


• Represent the company in a professional manner while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A)
  Must be in good standing and issued by the state of residence.


• Minimum Age Requirement
  Usually 21 years or older (may vary by company and insurance policy).


• Driving Experience
  3 years of recent verifiable Class A tractor-trailer driving experience preferred (some companies may accept recent CDL school graduates for entry-level roles).


• Clean Driving Record
  No major violations, DUIs, or preventable accidents in the past 3–5 years.


• DOT Medical Certification
  Must hold a current and valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.


• Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA Regulations
  Familiarity with Hours of Service (HOS) rules, ELD usage, and all applicable safety standards.


• Ability to Operate Manual and Automatic Transmissions
  Depending on fleet equipment (some companies may require manual shifting skills).
