Job Type: Full-time
FSLA: Non-exempt, Hourly
Location: NHT-Denver
Work Hours: Varies
Travel: 100% on the road. Must be willing to be out overnight, if needed, with the potential for multiple nights in a row.
Purpose of Position: We are seeking a professional and safety-focused Class A CDL Driver responsible for the timely and secure transportation of goods across the five boroughs of New York City, Long Island, and throughout the mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and Midwest regions. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The driver will be responsible for operating equipment safely, managing freight handling, and utilizing company-provided technology to ensure accurate navigation and reporting.

Essential Skills
  • A willingness to learn how to haul nest run eggs and operate safely on tight farm roads, including in inclement weather.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to specialized freight handling and delivery requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple delivery appointments at varying times, including daytime and overnight schedules.
  • Basic understanding of single- and dual-zone trailers, including proper use of a bulkhead.
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations and traffic laws.
  • Ability to properly secure palletized freight using tension bars and E-track systems.
  • Flexibility, attention to detail and the ability to operate in a variety of environments including farms, urban delivery locations and changing weather conditions.
  • Additional technical and operational experience is beneficial, particularly in equipment handling and electronic logging systems. Candidates who are comfortable working with modern tools and warehouse-style delivery methods will be well positioned for success.

  • Maintain equipment safety and readiness through regular inspections and reporting. This includes:
  • Conducting pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections of tires, lights, brakes, fuel levels.
  • Reporting mechanical issues, defects, or required maintenance on tractors and trailers immediately.
  • Keeping equipment clean, organized, and in proper working condition.
Requirements/Preferred
  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Valid DOT Medical Card
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

Physical Requirements / Environmental Conditions

The CDL A driver must be comfortable operating in a variety of environmental conditions, including adverse weather such as snow, and be able to sit for extended periods of time. This role requires frequent physical activity including bending, climbing in and out of the truck and trailer multiple times a day, and handling freight. Drivers should be capable of performing tasks such as up-stacking and down-stacking pallets and lifting 50 pounds or more.
This position also requires strong hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, as well as visual and hearing acuity to safely perform all job functions. Candidates must be comfortable working in temperature-controlled environments including conditions that may reach as low as negative 20 degrees.
