Job Summary
As a CDL A Driver you will transport non-hazardous materials in the greater Chilton, WI area. The schedule is 2:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. with overtime guaranteed.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Drive and maneuver one-ton flat beds, goose neck trailers, curtain van, tractor with 53-ft. van trailer, and a 26-ft. box truck with a lift gate.
- Operate an 8-speed and 10-speed manual trailer.
- Operate a mechanical pallet jack.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Communicate and interact effectively, timely, and respectfully with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and customers.
- Follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Place product securely in appropriate warehouse locations to prevent damage or misplacement.
- Retrieve and load customer products as directed on shipping documents to ensure correct quantities and item identification.
- Maintain customer and coworker interactions to support operational goals.
- Maintain a professional appearance that meets company standards.
- Store supplies and empty containers neatly.
- Perform general housekeeping duties.
- Conduct proper forklift inspections and follow forklift operating guidelines and procedures.
- Comply with all safety requirements, PPE requirements, and safe handling practices as required from SDS and company procedures.
- Follow WHMIS, MSDS and other safety training requirements and procedures.
- Follow all government and regulatory requirements for handling and transporting chemical materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
- Maintain regular and sustained attendance.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of driving experience as a licensed CDL A operator.
- Experience driving an 8-speed and 10-speed manual trailer.
- Open to schedule flexibility.
- No more than 6 points or 2 violations on your MVR in the past 12 months.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility.
- Ability to read and write load diagrams, shipping orders, and work instructions.
- Ability to operate electronic equipment such as RF scanners or radios as assigned.
- Effective collaboration, communication, and time-management skills.
- Strong customer service skills and business acumen.
- Available Monday through Friday with some weekends as needed.
- Willing to drive overnight runs on rare occasions.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Other Information
This position works in an enclosed building that is subject to temperature variations, with extreme heat in summer and colder temperatures in winter. The role often requires lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 50 pounds of product. Hours may vary.
