Averittdrivers is hiring a CDL-A Dock Associate in Port Wentworth, GA. You will split time between loading/unloading on the dock and local deliveries using a CDL-A truck. Expect daily use of scanners and modern equipment, with competitive driver-pay for the dock shifts.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age.
• Minimum 4 months (1 year preferred) of tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years.
• Drivers must have Class A CDL.
• Hazmat and tanker endorsements preferred; must be willing to obtain endorsements.
• No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years.
• No convictions for DUI within the past 5 years.
• No suspensions or revocations within the past 5 years.
• No serious violations within the previous 12 months (15 mph or greater, following too closely, improper passing, traffic offenses in CMV).
• No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years.
• No Preventable DOT Recordable accidents within the past 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Load freight and manage 80 lb lift requirements.
• Unload freight with similar lift limits.
• Move freight with 54 lb force requirements.
• Open/close trailer doors with 46 lb force.
• Enter/exit a Commercial Motor Vehicle and trailer from ground level.
• Count freight and complete bill of lading and fuel tickets.
• Obtain sales leads and secure extra shipments.
• Hook/unhook trailer with 90 lb force; complete delivery receipts.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and drive the vehicle.
