Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking CDL-A Delivery Drivers to move products for America’s favorite brands from Columbia, SC. Drive safely, comply with DOT rules, and help keep our nationwide network productive.

Starting pay is $85,000 to $90,000 per year with a sign-on bonus up to $10,000, plus day-one medical, dental, and vision insurance, FSA/HSA, and company-paid life insurance. Vacation and sick leave accrue from day one.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid Class A CDL.
• At least 1 year or 50,000 miles of tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Must meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report.
• Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery.
• Drive tractor-trailer to destination, following regulations and ensuring safe handling on road and customer site.
• Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations and document deliveries.
• Unload trailer and deliver product into customer premises.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do As a CDL-A Delivery Driver

• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition.
• Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery.
• Drive tractor-trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle on the road and on customer premises.
• Maintain driver log (Manual or Peoplenet) according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures and exceptions.
• Unload trailer, delivering product into customer premises.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You’ll Bring As a CDL-A Teammate

• At least 21 years of age
• Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A)
• At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience
• Must meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications
• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
