Qualifications

• Graduate from a nursing program (RN/BSN) or RHIT/RHIA strongly preferred.
• Course work in anatomy/physiology, medical terminology, and disease processes required.
• Experience with ICD-10 CM/PCS coding conventions and CPT/HCPCS is expected.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to improve documentation and coding accuracy.
• Interact with physicians, HIM, and nursing staff; educate on ICD-10/CPT guidelines.
• Develop tools and track program impact; participate in education for staff.
• Meet productivity targets for record review and queries; address denials with justification.
• Collaborate with coding staff to ensure complete reflection of patient status.
