Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current RN licensure in North Carolina or compact/multi-state license.
• CCDS and/or CDIP certification required or must complete within 1 year of hire.
• 5 years inpatient hospital experience required with at least 1 year in critical care.
• 3 years of ICD-10 inpatient CDI reviewer experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate CDS specialist processes for daily workflow efficiency.
• Serve as new hire preceptor and provide education and training.
• Review performance reports for CDMP program progress and impact.
• Identify educational needs for medical staff via CDIS reviews and program monitoring.
• Coordinate ongoing education for physicians on documentation improvement opportunities.
• Identify principal diagnoses and CCs to reflect severity and ROM per regulations.
• Facilitate documentation modifications to support DRG-based reimbursement.
