State of Colorado’s Brand Inspection Division seeks an Administrative Assistant to handle clerical tasks, data entry, and customer inquiries. You will support inspectors, manage brand certificates, and help maintain public livestock reporting records.

The Brand Inspection Division is responsible for inspecting all cattle, horses, mules, burros and alternative livestock when there is a change of ownership of the animals or they are transported over 75 miles within Colorado, are transported to a location outside Colorado, or are transported to slaughter. In addition, the Division administers Colorado’s approximately 32,000 registered livestock brands, licenses public livestock markets, certified feedlots and alternative livestock facilities, presides over the sale of stray livestock, compiles and distributes information concerning missing or stolen livestock, and collects brand inspection and other fees and assessments owed to the Division and the Colorado Beef Council and Colorado Horse Development Authority.
The Brand Inspection Division is responsible for inspecting all cattle, horses, mules, burros and alternative livestock when there is a change of ownership of the animals or they are transported over 75 miles within Colorado, are transported to a location outside Colorado, or are transported to slaughter.
The position is responsible for reconciling and entering country inspection reports for four inspection areas and reconciling and entering sale barn reports for public livestock markets. Position is responsible for scanning documents to the Division's databases, responding to customer questions at the counter, on the telephone, and by email, and opening incoming mail. Position is responsible for other clerical and reporting tasks as assigned.
Must be a State of Colorado Resident at the time of application in order to apply. This is a hybrid role and will be expected to be in Broomfield office at least twice a week.

Although the full salary range for this position is provided, appointments are typically made at or near the range minimum.
