Job summary

Vortex Companies, LLC is seeking a CCTV Operator to inspect pipelines, perform jetting and cleaning, and locate manholes. This full-time role involves operating CCTV equipment, maintaining tools, and coordinating traffic control in street work zones.

Requirements include 1+ year in water/sewer/televising or CIPP, familiarity with CCTV cameras and high-pressure cleaning equipment, and safety-conscious, team-oriented communication. Shift flexibility is required for field duties.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience with water, sewer, televising, jetting, or CIPP construction.
• Knowledge of Closed video camera equipment and high-pressure sewer cleaning equipment.
• PACP/MACP/LACP preferred.
• Strong knowledge of plans and specifications.
• Proficient with lasers, line and grade.
• Strong customer service and communication skills with mechanical aptitude.
• Awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Operate remote CCTV cameras to record interiors of pipelines for inspections and determine cleaning needs.
• Jetting, cabling, and installing clean-outs.
• Locate manholes from maps.
• Perform related duties and special projects; operate and maintain equipment.
• Support sewer maintenance, inspection, and rehabilitation tasks; assist in jetting and vactoring.
• Set up and take down traffic control in streets; store footage and monitor surveillance.

Job description

CCTV (Camera) Operators perform services ranging from locating manholes from a map, performing confined space entry operations, and performing standard CCTV/Cleaning operations.

Job will include work in and around waterlines, sanitary and storm sewers. Travel required.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Operating remote cameras that utilize CCTV to record interiors of various pipelines for inspections to determine if cleaning is needed (as well as what type) and if the pipe line is a candidate for lining
• Jetting, cabling, and installing clean-outs
• Locate manholes from a map
• Perform miscellaneous related duties and carry out special projects as assigned
• Operation and maintenance of all equipment
• Performs all work tasks required to support execution of sewer maintenance, inspection and/or rehabilitation pipeline tasks
• Repair various pipelines using a specific product and process
• Performs difficult skilled work supervising and participating in jetting of sewer lines and vactoring of manholes and lift station
• Set-up/take-down traffic control in the street

Skills required:

• At least 1-year experience with water, sewer, televising, jetting, or CIPP construction

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday but can include shift work, weekends, evenings, holidays - flexibility is required as job duties demand.
