Job summary

Qualifications

• BS in Perfusion required; advanced degree preferred.
• Three letters of reference from cardiovascular surgeons/anesthesiologists or supervisor.
• Must operate extracorporeal circulation equipment during emergencies.
• Perfusionist responsible for selecting and monitoring equipment and physiologic conditions under physician order.
• CCP certification validates mastery and ongoing recertification is required.
• ABCP is the certifying body for CCPs.

Responsibilities

• Operate extracorporeal bypass equipment during patient support or replacement.
• Prepare and administer blood products through bypass circuitry.
• Monitor and manage physiologic parameters during perfusion.
• Maintain readiness for on-call coverage.
