Job summary

CCMC Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV, is seeking a groundskeeper to perform general groundskeeping and maintenance across hospital facilities. The role requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a hospital physical for operating a commercial vehicle.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of groundskeeping and maintenance/construction experience, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • Must pass hospital administered physical that measures ability to drive a commercial class vehicle in WV.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One year experience in groundskeeping.
  • One year experience in maintenance/construction.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general groundskeeping work throughout the Hospital and assigned facilities.
  • Assures all tools are clean and kept properly stored for future use and keep good inventory on all materials.
  • Follows hospital, state and federal guidelines for ensuring safe environment for workers, patients and public. Maintains compliance with hospital and departmental policies and Government Codes and procedures for safety, security, and infection control.
  • Ensures the facilities and equipment for department services is maintained to promote comfort, efficiency and safety for patients and staff.
  • Operates and cleans and maintains equipment per department & safety procedures.
  • Uses required PPE safety equipment.
  • Responds promptly to on-call duties.

Performs various landscape maintenance for the facility grounds.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** :**

EXPERIENCE:
  1. One (1) year experience in groundskeeping.
  2. One (1) year experience in maintenance/construction.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Capable of climbing the height of all Maintenance Department ladders not to exceed 40 ft. in height.
  2. Able to bend, stoop, reach and capable of normal rotation, and standing for an extended shift. Able to lift fifty pounds from floor to a height of five feet and capable of moving all types of furniture, Equipment and machinery up to 400 ft. or more.
  3. Must meet Department of Labor's Heavy-Duty Standard. (Heavy Work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and or 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects).

  1. Able to tolerate working in various weather, including harsh weather conditions.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  1. Capable of operating all types of outside grounds equipment.
  2. Capable of operating, setting up all types of in house maintenance tools and machinery.
    Capable of working all three shifts alone.
  3. Capable of operating and driving all Hospital vehicles making runs from city to city.
  4. Knowledge in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.
  5. Capable of working all shifts and/or call when scheduled.
