Job summary

MBI - Malibu Boats, Inc is seeking a Technician II to assemble boats by following construction orders and specifications. You will use a variety of tools and read drawings to ensure components meet quality standards.

The role requires reading safety rules and manuals, wearing required PPE, and maintaining accurate production records while learning and applying new processes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Summary

Assemble boats by following specific boat construction order. A variety of tasks are performed building the components of each boat using power and non-power hand tools working from specifications and schematic drawings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Apply high energy, self-motivation, and initiative to learn and be trained on various types of equipment and processes.
• Ability to use safely and effectively high-speed pneumatic and battery powered power tools: drills, drivers etc., hand tools, etc.
• Must be able to read drawings and specifications. Complete required documentation of finished parts for production purposes.
• Daily job duties will be varied and dynamic.
• Workload will be tracked via daily schedules and assignments requiring responsibility and accountability for quality and timeliness of completion.
• Ability to perform job functions safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment while wearing all required PPE.
• Ability to take on new tasks and duties with little training or assistance.
• Be able to train new operators safe methods and best practices to help them become successful operators.
• Be a self-starter and expert in their respective areas.
• Be able to complete multiple positions and/or tasks in a timely and safe manner.
• Learn new models and assist in implementing best practices.
• Practice good housekeeping.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior woodworking, construction, and/or mechanic experience preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Regularly required to work at, lifting parts and pieces up to 50 lbs., traveling up and down stairs, sitting, squatting and bending in various awkward positions for certain lengths of time - including working overhead, traveling in and out of work areas, walking and being on your feet for a majority of the work day.
