Job summary

Montini Catholic School, part of the Catholic Diocese of Rockford, is seeking qualified and faith-filled Substitute Teachers to support student learning during teacher absences. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Valid teaching credential or substitute permit is preferred.
• Prior teaching or classroom experience preferred.
• Practicing Catholic or committed to supporting Catholic education.
• Ability to follow lesson plans, manage a classroom, and adapt to grade levels (PreK–8).
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction based on lesson plans prepared by the regular teacher.
• Maintain classroom order and promote a positive, respectful environment.
• Incorporate Catholic values into interactions and management.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of students.
• Supervise students in various settings, including lunchroom and recess.
• Communicate effectively with school staff and leave a summary for the returning teacher.
