Qualifications

• Experience with children or in an educational setting preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to work with students of varying ages and abilities.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Commitment to safety, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Must meet diocesan and school background checks, training, and child-safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Follow lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular classroom teacher.
• Provide appropriate instruction and guidance to students according to the teacher's plans and school expectations.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful classroom environment.
• Supervise students and follow school procedures for safety and supervision.
• Implement classroom rules, routines, and behavior expectations consistently and fairly.
• Take attendance and complete required classroom records or documentation.
• Assist students with assignments and classroom activities.
• Communicate significant concerns to the regular teacher or school administration.
• Leave the classroom organized with a brief summary of the day’s activities.
