Job summary

Saint Martha School in Sarasota, FL seeks a dedicated Teacher's Assistant to support classrooms from Kindergarten through Middle School. You will reinforce lessons, assist the Teacher, and help maintain a Catholic learning environment.

Candidates need a high school diploma, 1–3 years of child experience, strong communication, and comfort with educational technology. A FDLE Level 2 background check is required. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience working with children.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work with K–8 students.
• Proficiency with computer networks and software.
• Ability to use technology to enhance learning.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• FDLE Level 2 background check required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising learning activities and support students.
• Provide instruction as prescribed by the Teacher.
• Assist in evaluating students' work and small-group instruction.
• Help manage classroom behavior and maintain classroom order.
• Escort students during lunch, restroom visits and activities.
• Assist in preparing lesson plans and classroom materials.
• Coordinate with media center staff for resources.
• Maintain student records.
• Other duties as assigned.
