Job summary

Qualifications include a high school diploma and 1–3 years with children. Strong communication, organizational skills, and comfort with technology are required; FDLE Level 2 background check will be conducted.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience working with children.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work with children from Kindergarten through Middle School.
• Proficiency with computer networks and software programs.
• Ability to use technology to enhance student learning.
• Strong planning and organizational skills. FDLE Level 2 background check.

Responsibilities

• Assists in supervising learning activities and provides student support.
• Provides instruction to students as prescribed by the Teacher.
• Assists Teacher in evaluating students’ work and reinforces skills.
• Assists in managing student behavior and maintaining classroom order.
• Escorts students during lunch, restroom visits and other activities.
• Assists in lesson plan preparation and development of classroom activities.
• Coordinates with media center staff for classroom resources.
• Assists in preparing bulletin boards, decorations and displays.
• Maintains student records.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
