Job summary

Under the Pastor’s direction, you will plan curricula, recruit catechists, maintain records, and promote a safe environment. The position requires a bachelor’s in a related field, Catholic education experience, and catechetical certification.

Qualifications

• Commitment to fostering lay leadership in the Roman Catholic Church.
• Excellent communication, verbal and written; strong interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter, well organized; able to multitask with urgency.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Willingness to travel locally; weekend/overtime work may be required.
• Proficient with Word/Excel/PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Support the parish’s spiritual and pastoral mission.
• Articulate a vision with needs, priorities, goals and action plans.
• Coordinate Religious Education programs; assign catechists and volunteers; maintain sacramental records.
• Recruit and form catechists, provide education and training as needed.
• Ensure Safe Environment compliance and adherence to diocesan policies.
• Draft and implement SOPs for youth activities; prepare reports as required.
