Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation seeks a PSR Teacher to provide faith formation and Catholic education to children and youth.

You will prepare age-appropriate lessons, foster a welcoming learning environment, and collaborate with parish staff, parents, and catechists to support spiritual development. You will teach sacraments preparation, participate in catechist training, and maintain records while adhering to parish safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; religious education coursework preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to teach and engage children or youth in an age-appropriate manner.
• Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
• Patience, flexibility, and a positive approach with students.
• Commitment to welcoming and respectful learning environment.
• Ability to work with parish staff, parents, volunteers, and catechists.

Responsibilities

• Teach age-appropriate Catholic religious education using parish curriculum.
• Plan lessons, activities, discussions, prayers, and learning experiences.
• Foster faith formation, Scripture understanding, sacraments, prayer and Christian living.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, welcoming classroom.
• Encourage active student participation and service activities.
• Support sacramental preparation and understanding of sacraments.
• Communicate professionally with students, parents, staff, clergy and catechists.
• Maintain attendance records and parish documentation.
• Participate in catechist meetings, training and parish programs.
