Job summary

East Shoreline Catholic Academy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time First Grade Teacher to join our Catholic school community for the 2026-2027 school year.

We are a Pre-K to Grade 8 community grounded in Catholic identity and academic excellence. The teacher will integrate faith across core subjects, implement the curriculum, differentiate instruction, and use technology to enhance learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Master’s in education or a related field preferred.
• Current Connecticut Certification.
• Experience in Catholic Schools desirable.

Responsibilities

• Faith Integration: Incorporate Catholic values and Gospel teachings across all subject areas, not just Religion class.
• Liturgical Participation: Lead daily classroom prayer and accompany class to Mass.
• Role Modeling: Exemplify Christian living in and out of the classroom.
• Curriculum Implementation: Teach core subjects following the OCS curriculum standards.
• Differentiated Instruction: Modify teaching methods to meet diverse needs including IEPs/504s.
• Lesson Planning: Develop engaging lessons using Google Classroom and SMART Boards.
• Positive Climate: Create a safe, disciplined, loving learning environment.
• Behavioral Standards: Align with Archdiocesan policies.
• Progress Monitoring: Formative and summative assessments and records.
• Parent Partnership: Maintain open communication with families via conferences and progress reports.
• Collaboration: Participate in faculty meetings and committees.
