Job summary

Valdes Architecture & Engineering is seeking a Cathodic Protection Engineer to lead hands-on field testing and design verifications. You will review project design, create sketches for CP components, and coordinate with internal teams across Major Projects and other departments.

The role requires a CP2 certification or equivalent, a 2-year engineering/technical degree, and 3–5 years of CP field testing experience. Domestic travel to customer sites will be involved.

Qualifications

  • CP2 Certification required or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating multiple tasks and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform project design review and verify design inclusion.
  • Create sketches and drawings for rectifiers, anodes, test stations, and other features.
  • Coordinate with Major Projects Group and internal Department projects.
  • Attend project meetings for updates and input.
  • Site visits for pre-construction, construction, and final walkdowns.
  • Perform design verification tests (soil potential, resistivity, CP facilities, CI surveys).
  • Support commissioning contractor questions and troubleshoot issues.
  • Analyze commissioning data for abnormalities and follow up.
