Role Description

The CathLab RN at Washington Health is a full-time, on-site role based in Fremont, CA. This role is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and related procedures, including pre-procedure assessment, intra-procedure monitoring, and post-procedure recovery. The CathLab RN collaborates with physicians, technologists, and other health care professionals to prepare equipment, administer medications, maintain sterile technique, and respond to changes in patient condition. Daily responsibilities include patient education, care coordination, documentation in the electronic medical record, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The nurse also participates in emergency interventions, such as rapid response and code situations, as needed in the Cath Lab setting.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and prior experience in a Cath Lab, critical care, or cardiac unit.
• Strong clinical assessment skills, including cardiac monitoring, hemodynamic interpretation, and IV therapy.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records, documentation standards, and infection control practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and communicate clearly with patients and colleagues.
• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based nursing practice.
• Flexibility to work scheduled shifts, participate in on-call rotations, and respond to urgent cases.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; BSN preferred. Prior experience in an acute care hospital strongly desired.
