Job summary

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist to support procedures in a high-volume lab. The role involves teaching staff, assisting physicians as a monitor tech, scrub tech, and circulator across complex coronary interventions.

Candidates should hold an associate or bachelor's degree in a science field, and possess ACLS; RCIS within six months; ARR T or TX RT(R) as alternative. This on-site position offers growth opportunities within a leading North Texas hospital.

Qualifications

• Associate or higher degree or equivalent healthcare experience.
• ACLS certification is required/preferred.
• RCIS certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
• ARRT or TX RT(R) certification acceptable in lieu of RCIS.

Responsibilities

• Teach and orient students and new staff.
• Assist physician as monitor tech; interpret EKGs and pressures.
• Act as scrub tech and operate imaging equipment as directed.
• Serve as circulator for some procedures; monitor patient status.
• Transport patients to/from the department.
• Clean and stock Cath Lab supplies.
• Show knowledge of meds and dosages used.
• Demonstrate procedural knowledge and sterile technique.
• Order supplies and manage inventory for Cath Lab.
• Post-procedure: remove sheaths, maintain hemostasis, monitor patient.
• Prepare lab for procedures and ensure sterile setup.
• Prep patient for procedures and mark arterial pulses.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems.

Education

Associate or Bachelor’s degree, science emphasis or commensurate healthcare experience

AHA ACLS certification

RCIS certification within six months of hire

ARRT and TX RT(R) certification in lieu of RCIS

Your Job:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree, science emphasis or commensurate healthcare experience
• Licenses and/or Certifications (Required and Preferred)
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardio Life Support certification
• RCIS certified within six months of date of hire
• ARRT and TX RT(R) required in lieu of RCIS

Your Job Responsibilities:

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as a monitor tech during any procedure performed in the cath lab by interpreting basic and advanced dysrhythmia and EKG’s and operating physiologic recorder, and interpreting normal and abnormal pressures and wave forms.
• Assists physician with most procedures as a scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under direction of physician.
• Assists physician with some diagnostic procedures as a circulator by monitoring patient status during a procedure, handing supplies to the scrub tech, and operating imaging equipment under the direction of the physician.
• Assists with transport of patient to and from department.
• Cleans and stocks cath lab.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications and dosages used.
• Demonstrates theoretical knowledge of procedures.
• Orders supplies for cath lab and demonstrates effective inventory control.
• Post procedure safety removes arterial and/or venous sheath, maintains hemostasis, and monitors patient status.
• Prepares lab for procedure by setting up for procedure and maintaining sterile technique.
• Prepares patient for procedure by shaving and prepping patient and marking arterial pulses.
• Troubleshoots equipment problems.
