Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking a Cardiovascular Invasive Service Tech to join the Cardiac Cath Lab and Special Procedures teams. You will support physicians during invasive procedures, manage patient imaging, and help maintain equipment and inventory.

The ideal candidate has four years of clinical patient care experience, credentials in cardiovascular invasive disciplines, and BLS/ACLS readiness within specified timelines, with on-call responsibilities and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Four years clinical patient care experience required, if not graduate of Cardiovascular Invasive program.
• Previous cardiovascular lab experience preferred.
• Graduate of diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate health sciences program (incl. cardiovascular technology, nursing, paramedic, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or ultrasound).
• RCIS/RCES/ARRT CI/VI exam required within two years of hire; ACLS within six months of hire; basic thinking and stress management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide service to adults in Cardiac Cath Lab and adolescents in Special Procedures.
• Assist physicians during invasive sterile procedures.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatments.
• Responsible for image management and maintenance of equipment and inventory.
• Participates in performance improvement and quality improvement; assumes on-call responsibility.
• Demonstrates ability to function under stressful or emergent situations.

Qualifications

Four years clinical patient care experience required, if not graduate of Cardiovascular Invasive program. Previous cardiovascular lab experience preferred. A graduate of diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate academic program in health sciences required (includes, but not limited to cardiovascular technology, nursing, paramedic, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or ultrasound.) Graduate of a Cardiovascular Invasive program preferred.

Successful completion of Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) ) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Cardiac Interventional (CI) or Vascular Interventional (VI) exam required within two years of hire. ACLS required within six months of hire. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision is required. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within six months of hire. RCIS credential or ARRT advanced certification within two years of hire.
