Job Summary

The Cardiovascular Invasive Technician – Certified provides specialized support during diagnostic and therapeutic/interventional cardiovascular procedures. The role involves assisting physicians, operating specialized equipment, and maintaining sterile techniques to ensure patient safety and quality care. The technician records and verifies data, prepares documentation, and facilitates effective communication with the healthcare team to support optimal patient outcomes.

Essential Functions

• Assist physicians during cardiovascular diagnostic and interventional procedures while maintaining sterile techniques and adhering to clinical protocols.
• Operate advanced cardiovascular equipment safely and efficiently, monitoring patient status and adapting to changing conditions as necessary.
• Record, calculate, and verify procedural data for physician review, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and maintain detailed procedural documentation, including treatment plans, evaluation results, and progress reports, in line with departmental standards.
• Ensure a safe and efficient environment in the acute care area, responding promptly to patient needs and changes in condition.
• Support patient preparation, positioning, and monitoring, providing reassurance and ensuring comfort throughout procedures.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure seamless workflow, equipment readiness, and effective communication during procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with best practices, policies, and regulatory standards for cardiovascular care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• 0–1 year(s) of experience in cardiovascular or invasive procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in operating advanced cardiovascular equipment and adhering to sterile techniques.

Licenses and Certifications

• RCIS – Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (National Board of Cardiovascular Technology) required.
• BCLS – Basic Life Support obtained within 90 days of hire required.
• ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support required.
