Qualifications
Age of Patients Served: Adult (18-64 years) and Geriatric (>=65 years).
Education: High School Diploma or GED. Graduate of Cardiovascular Program, or in lieu of degree have 10+ years of experience in the Invasive Cath Lab.
Preferred Education: Graduate CVT program with a RCIS certification.
Necessary Skills: Use of good radiographic techniques to reduce radiation exposure to patient and personnel; good communication skills; knowledge of human anatomy and physiology (adult); ability to use hospital computer system; knowledge of filing system; ability to prepare procedure tray/equipment and maintain sterility; knowledge of body techniques and ability to use good body mechanics; ability to initiate appropriate patient charge; proficiency in using Cath lab equipment; patient advocate skills.
Required Licensure/Certifications: BLS from the American Heart Association; ACLS from the American Heart Association.
Within 6 months of hire or transfer into the position, must be Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
Required Experience: Less than 1 year experience in cardiac cath labs and/or direct patient care.
