Job summary

Methodist Celina Medical Center is seeking a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to support invasive cardiovascular procedures in the cath lab under supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with scrub and monitor tech duties, imaging equipment operation, patient monitoring, and sterile prep.

The role requires an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a science field or healthcare experience, current AHA ACLS certification, RCIS within 18 months, and ARRT/TX RT(R) credentials in lieu of RCIS.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree with science emphasis or equivalent healthcare experience.
• Current AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
• RCIS certification within eighteen (18) months of date of hire.
• ARRT and TX RT(R) required in lieu of RCIS.

Responsibilities

• Assists physician as a monitor tech during cath lab procedures and interprets basic and advanced dysrhythmia and EKGs.
• Operates imaging equipment under physician direction and assists as a scrub tech.
• Assists with diagnostic procedures as a circulator, monitors patient status.
• Transporting patients to and from department and preparing lab for procedures.
• Maintains sterile technique, inventories supplies, and troubleshoots equipment problems.

Your Job Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree, science emphasis or commensurate healthcare experience
• Licenses and/or Certifications (Required and Preferred)
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardio Life Support certification
• RCIS certified within eighteen (18) months of date of hire
• ARRT and TX RT(R) required in lieu of RCIS

Your Job Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as a monitor tech during any procedure performed in the cath lab by interpreting basic and advanced dysrhythmia and EKG’s and operating physiologic recorder, and interpreting normal and abnormal pressures and wave forms.
• Assists physician with most procedures as a scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under direction of physician.
• Assists physician with some diagnostic procedures as a circulator by monitoring patient status during a procedure, handing supplies to the scrub tech, and operating imaging equipment under the direction of the physician.
• Assists with transport of patient to and from department.
• Cleans and stocks cath lab.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications and dosages used.
• Demonstrates theoretical knowledge of procedures.
• Orders supplies for cath lab and demonstrates effective inventory control.
• Post procedure safety removes arterial and/or venous sheath, maintains hemostasis, and monitors patient status.
• Prepares lab for procedure by setting up for procedure and maintaining sterile technique.
• Prepares patient for procedure by shaving and prepping patient and marking arterial pulses.
• Troubleshoots equipment problems.

Methodist Celina Medical Center is located on a 40+ acre campus just off of Dallas Parkway, and will serve as the community’s first full-service hospital, serving Celina and surrounding communities. The four-story medical center will open with 51 beds, with plans for expansion, and will feature a range of services including cardiology, women’s services, orthopedics, robotic surgery, and more.
