Job summary

Abrazo West Campus Hospital is seeking a Cardiovascular Cath Lab professional to perform direct and indirect cardiovascular care in the Cath Lab. The role includes scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating in invasive procedures, with training on structural heart scrubbing.

Minimum requirements include an Associate degree in Radiology, ARRT-CRT, BLS, and ACLS within 6 months. 6 months Cath Lab experience is required; RCIS is preferred. The facility emphasizes patient care and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiology or equivalent.
• Basic EKG course completed.
• Must attend EKG, Hemodynamics, IABP classes within four months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs before, during, and after procedures; inform nurse/MD of changes.
• Develop personalized care plans for procedures performed.
• Provide teaching to patient/family and staff; manage imaging views and priorities.
• Assist with setup and care of temporary/permanent pacemakers; monitor IABP.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Performs direct and indirect functions in the Cardiac Cath Lab. Assists all physicians/staff with clinical and technical aspects of cardiovascular care. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned. Scrubs, monitors, and circulates in all invasive procedures in the Cath Lab. The department provides training on Structural Heart scrubbing. Able to function on all cardiac alerts and STEMI cases.

Responsibilities

• Assesses physical, psychosocial, and growth and development needs of the patient, completes pre, intra and post procedure assessment, informs nurse/MD of any changes in patient's condition.
• Develops a plan of care for procedure being performed, plan of care is individualized to include specific patient problems, needs and scheduled procedure.
• Provides teaching and guidance to patient and/or family as well as staff members. Able to execute x-ray for desired views- abdominal aorta gram, runoff, division, storing and printing images, sets priorities for care of patients based on patient's needs and resources available, identifies and performs appropriately in emergency patient care solutions.
• Knowledge of set up and monitoring of IABP, assists with set-up, insertion and care of temporary and permanent pacemakers.
• Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned

    • To be able to respond to emergencies within 30 minutes of alert.
  • Team
    • Four team members for both working hours and on call teams (1 Scrub, 1 RT, 1 circulating RN, 1 Monitoring personnel)
  • Equipment
    • The department uses Philips x-ray equipment, Acist injectors, Philips IVUS/iFR, Xper Monitoring System, and Spacetrax Inventory System.
• Minimum Requirements
  • Education:
    • Associate degree in Radiology or equivalent
    • Basic EKG course.
    • Must attend EKG, Hemodynamics, IABP classes within four months of hire.
  • Experience: 6 months in Cath Lab/Cardiac Intervention Lab.
  • Licensure/Certifications:
    • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT-CRT) registration
    • BLS
    • ACLS within 6 months of hire
• Preferred Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor in Radiology or equivalent
  • Experience: 1 year experience providing cardiac cath, radiology care
  • Certifications/Registrations: RCIS certification
