Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Cath Lab to deliver nursing care during cardiac catheterization procedures, ensure accurate medication administration, monitor hemodynamics, and maintain procedural documentation.

The role requires proficiency with cath lab equipment, adherence to sterile technique, and participation in quality assurance activities to optimize outcomes. On-site, full-time position with active state RN licensure and BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Act 34 background clearance
• Act 33 background clearance
• Act 73 FBI fingerprinting clearance
• Current State of PA RN licensure or valid multi-state license via eNLC
• BLS and ACLS Certification

Responsibilities

• Participates in care of patients undergoing Cardiac Cath Lab and related procedures; prepares patients including consent and history verification.
• Assists physician/PA during procedures; helps with equipment handling and sterile technique.
• Maintains competency to administer moderate sedation, vasoactive medications, and anticoagulants as directed.
• Performs scrub functions intra-operatively and supports cardiologist during catheterization.
• Completes required documentation for procedures, regulatory and billing; handles image storage/archival.
• Maintains supplies and participates in inventory control; cross-trains as needed.
• Provides accurate nurse-to-nurse handoffs to receiving units.
