Job summary

SSM Health in Missouri seeks a Registered Nurse to plan, coordinate and implement care for adults in the Cardiac Cath Lab. You will work as part of the Cath Lab team ensuring quality, safe care and competency in a high-stakes environment.

You will perform circulator/scrub/monitor duties, assist in holding, manage prepped patients, and educate families about tests and treatments. Strong communication with physicians and staff is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
• No experience required.
• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Registered Nurse (RN) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration or IDFPR (Illinois if applicable)
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) - American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Performs on the Cath Lab procedure team as circulator, scrub, or monitor.
• Preps patient in holding; ensures H&P is timely.
• Administers medications and reports abnormal information to physician.
• Performs hemostasis safely with or without vascular devices.
• Routinely enters patient orders and charges; checks charges for accuracy.
• Educates patients and families; provides perioperative instructions.
• Assists families to cardiology area or Cath lab area when needed.
• May perform point of care testing.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
