Identifies and prepares patients using aseptic technique as dictated by the procedure ordered and ensures adherence to regulatory standards and safety regulations.Verifies orders, facilitates implementation, performs treatments, administers medications, and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions and medications. Produces an accurately written, promptly completed medical record for each patient based on the scope and complexity of the intervention procedure and patient clinical conditions. Completes timely assessments per Practice Guidelines, including physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors, including signs of abuse or neglect. Makes appropriate decisions and interventions based on nursing diagnosis according to patients' actual or potential health conditions or needs. Sets measurable and achievable short and long-range goals for the patient, assisting in the development and implementation of an individualized plan of care. Prioritizes and completes follow-up assessments, evaluates, and modifies the plan of care as needed. Demonstrates the ability to assess and interpret diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition, including lab results, non-invasive monitoring data, and interdisciplinary team notes. Applies knowledge and skills pertaining to all diagnoses, procedures, medications, complications, and equipment associated with unit patient population. Abides by American Nurses Association Scope, Standards, and Code of Ethics, and participates in practice changes and process improvement initiatives. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department and exhibits a desire to learn, teach, mentor, and advance nursing skills. Follows CDC isolation guidelines, appropriately uses PPE, and performs hand hygiene according to accepted standards of care.Performs other duties as assigned.
