Job summary

AdventHealth in Daytona Beach seeks a Registered Nurse to join our cardiology/critical care team. You will identify and prepare patients, perform procedures, administer medications, and document care in the medical record with precision and compassion.

You’ll work in a dynamic environment, adhering to standards, using PPE, and collaborating with physicians and staff. Requires RN license, BLS, ACLS; we offer day shift, benefits from day one, and a strong focus on whole-person well-being.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ECG analysis and arrhythmia interpretation is required.
  • Understanding of cardiovascular and peripheral anatomy.
  • Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and ICU equipment.
  • Ability to communicate with patients and families and hospital staff.
  • Knowledge of standard nursing concepts, practices, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies orders, facilitates implementation, and administers medications.
  • Completes timely assessments and writes accurate medical records.

Identifies and prepares patients using aseptic technique as dictated by the procedure ordered and ensures adherence to regulatory standards and safety regulations.Verifies orders, facilitates implementation, performs treatments, administers medications, and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions and medications. Produces an accurately written, promptly completed medical record for each patient based on the scope and complexity of the intervention procedure and patient clinical conditions. Completes timely assessments per Practice Guidelines, including physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors, including signs of abuse or neglect. Makes appropriate decisions and interventions based on nursing diagnosis according to patients' actual or potential health conditions or needs. Sets measurable and achievable short and long-range goals for the patient, assisting in the development and implementation of an individualized plan of care. Prioritizes and completes follow-up assessments, evaluates, and modifies the plan of care as needed. Demonstrates the ability to assess and interpret diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition, including lab results, non-invasive monitoring data, and interdisciplinary team notes. Applies knowledge and skills pertaining to all diagnoses, procedures, medications, complications, and equipment associated with unit patient population. Abides by American Nurses Association Scope, Standards, and Code of Ethics, and participates in practice changes and process improvement initiatives. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department and exhibits a desire to learn, teach, mentor, and advance nursing skills. Follows CDC isolation guidelines, appropriately uses PPE, and performs hand hygiene according to accepted standards of care.Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of ECG training and arrhythmia interpretation [Required]

  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Required]

  • Ability to monitor patient blood pressure, ECG, and Pulse Oximetry using sophisticated clinical equipment [Required]

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]

  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]

  • Knowledge of electrophysiology diagnostic procedures [Preferred]

  • Knowledge of interventional radiology procedures [Preferred]

  • Knowledge of peripheral diagnostic procedures [Preferred]

  • Knowledge of peripheral intervention procedures [Preferred]

  • Knowledge of interventional cardiology procedures [Preferred]



Education:


  • Associate's of Nursing [Required]

  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]



Field of Study:


  • Graduate of a school of nursing



Work Experience:


  • Cardiovascular Lab experience [Preferred]

  • Electrophysiology Lab experience [Preferred]

  • Interventional Radiology Lab experience [Preferred]

  • Peripheral Lab experience [Preferred]
