Job summary

Methodist Hospitals in Merrillville, Indiana seeks a Radiologic Technologist for the Cath Lab to assist physicians in angiographic procedures. The role requires independent judgment, patient-focused care, and strict adherence to radiation safety policies.

You will work with a cross-functional team of nurses, technologists and physicians to produce high-quality images and accurate procedural data. Minimum credentials include an Associate degree in Radiology, ARRT (R) registration, and BLS/ACLS

Qualifications

• Assure radiation principles are followed by staff.
• Maintain equipment integrity and uptime with Biomed teams.
• Test lead aprons and thyroid shields annually.
• Store shielding apparatus properly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Capable of independent patient care and equipment function.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients, physicians and coworkers professionally.
• Plan and provide care with cross-functional team under stress.
• Operate radiographic equipment for angiographic imaging.
• Post-process images and ensure accurate documentation.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and protect patients.
• Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and obtain consent.
• Assist physicians with procedures and pre/post care.
• Set up sterile trays and prep patients using sterile technique.
• Perform arterial/venous cannulation under supervision.
• Cross-train and monitor hemodynamics; maintain a safe environment.
• Ensure proper charging of procedures and supplies.
